Why sites drift

Most websites are fine on launch day and quietly rot from there. Prices change, staff move on, a service is dropped, a photo goes out of date, a form stops sending and nobody notices for a month. None of it is dramatic on its own, but a year of small neglect is what makes a site look tired and start losing enquiries.

Care and updates is simply having someone whose job it is to keep that from happening, without you needing to learn a content editor or chase a supplier for a quote every time a paragraph needs changing.

What is covered

Text and image changes, new pages, adding a service or a case study, updating opening hours and contact details, swapping out seasonal content, and fixing anything that breaks. On the technical side that means keeping dependencies current, renewing certificates, watching page speed, checking forms still deliver, and keeping an eye on uptime and error logs.

You send a message describing what you want changed and I do it. There is no ticket system to learn and no minimum billing unit for a two-minute job.

Backups and recovery

Every site I look after is backed up and version controlled, so a bad change can be rolled back rather than rebuilt. If something does go wrong, the question is how quickly it can be reverted, not whether there is a copy anywhere.

Sites I did not build

I am happy to take on a site someone else built, as long as I can get proper access to the hosting and code. I will have a look first and tell you honestly whether it is worth maintaining or whether a redesign would cost you less over a year.
